The Journals of Lewis & Clark

This abridged version of the journals of Lewis & Clark emphasizes the natural history aspects of the expedition. The text for this edition of the Lewis and Clark journals is based on the “Original Journals of Lewis and Clark”, edited by Reuben Gold Thwaites and published in eight volumes in 1904-05. Other than deletions, no changes have been made in the spelling or punctuation of the journals as presented in the Thwaites edition. For the purpose of readability, however, blocks of texts have been indented into paragraphs.This book also has Jefferson’s instructions to Lewis and Articles Purchased for the Expeditions, as a bonus to readers.
