The Lewis & Clark Expedition Spy Glass

One of the tools used on this scientific journey was a telescope. Although only one telescope or "spy glass" was included on Lewis' list of equipment for the expedition, telescopes are mentioned many times in the journals. They were very useful in observing wildlife and determining what they would encounter ahead of them. This spy glass is focused by sliding the tubing in and out until the object you wish to view comes into focus.
